Acer unveils Swift and Aspire notebooks with advanced datasheet

The Acer Swift 5 is the world’s lightest 15-inch notebook, according to the manufacturer, weighing 990 grams. During the IFA 2018 in Berlin, the model had a price and release date revealed: it will go on sale in January 2019 in the US, for from US $ 1,099 (about R $ 4,538, in direct conversion). Its technical data comes with Intel Core processor 8th generation and touchscreen with Full HD resolution (1920 x 1080). The Acer also introduced the new Swift 3 , which arrives with 13.3 or 14-inch screen, and rely on technology 4G LTE to allow Internet connection even when no Wi-Fi network nearby.

Other new features include the Windows Mixed Reality OJO 500 headset , the Predator XB273 and Nitro XV273K monitors , the Aspire Z 24 All-In-One , the Aspire 7, 5 and 3 notebooks. Finally, there are laser projectors that promise realistic colors and good image quality. The company did not reveal whether the products arrive in Brazil.

Acer Swift 5 and Swift 3
The Swift 5, introduced in May by Acer , comes with a focus on portability: its ultra-thin body is only 5.87 mm thick, and weighs less than 1 kg. Inside, the notebook features 8-generation Intel Core i7-8565U or Core i5-8265U processors that work in conjunction with up to 16GB DDR4 SDRAM and up to 1TB PCIe NVD SSD . The promise is up to 10 hours of battery life.

Regarding the connections, the Swift 5 has a Type-C Gen-2 USB 10 Gb / s 3.1 port for high-speed data transfers, and also supports power and video output. There are also two USB Type-A 3.1 ports (one with off-mode charging functionality) and finally one HDMI port .

With a 13-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080) screen, the Swift 3 brings 4G LTE technology to the forefront. With it, the user can surf the Internet anywhere, without relying on Wi-Fi connections. The model also prizes for portability, weighing 1.3 kg and 15.9 mm thick.

In the internal set, the device comes with Intel Core processors and up to 8 GB of DDR4 RAM , plus PCIe NVD SSDs up to 512 GB. The promise is that the battery lasts up to 13 hours away from the outlets. The device arrives in stores in Europe in October for from 799 euros (R $ 3,864 in direct conversion).

The Swift 3 is also available in a 14-inch version with the most powerful datasheet. It comes with 8th generation Intel Core processors (i7-8565U / i5-8265U / i3-8145U), up to 8GB DDR4 RAM and up to 512GB PCIe NVD SSDs. For more demanding users, you can opt for a Nvidia GeForce MX150 dedicated video card option. The battery promises to withstand up to 12 hours of use. The laptop will be available in the US in November, for as low as $ 799 (R $ 3,299).

Also announced at the IFA, the OJO 500 is the first virtual reality headset to feature a detachable design, according to Acer. The feature promises to facilitate cleaning and sharing of the device among several people – the user can even wash the head strap. The model has an integrated audio system that serves to concentrate the sound in the ears and eliminate the need to use headphones.

Another interesting feature is the IPD, which is responsible for adjusting the screen at an ideal distance from the user’s eyes automatically. The manufacturer claims that the glasses are easy to set up. Available from November in the United States, its price is $ 399 (approximately $ 1,647).


Acer used the event to launch two monitors. The Predator XB273K gamer monitor promises immersion in ultra high definition games (3840 x 2160) and features a 144Hz refresh rate that should deliver smooth, traced images. The product will be available in the fourth quarter of 2018 in the United States, for from US $ 1,299 (R $ 5,364).

The Acer Nitro XV273K comes with AMD Radeon FreeSync1 and Visual Response Boost 2 technologies of up to 1 ms, which help provide higher refresh rates and ultra-high resolution. With 27-inch screen, the handset promises to offer realistic colors and 4K Ultra High Definition (UHD) resolutions. On sale from the fourth quarter of 2018 in the US, it costs $ 899 ($ ​​3,712).

All-In-One and Aspire Notebooks

The company introduced the new models of the All-In-One Aspire Z 24, which now features the latest Intel Core i7 processors.

There are also upgrades in the Aspire 7 , Aspire 5 and Aspire 3 notebook series – all equipped with Windows 10 . Most suitable for students, the Aspire 3 laptop features a full-size 14-inch Full HD display. Its datasheet includes up to 8 GB of 2666 MHz DDR4 memory, one HDMI port, three USB ports and an optional integrated DVD drive. The Aspire 3 arrives in December at European stores for 399 euros (R $ 1,929).

Aspire 5, on the other hand, may be ideal for less demanding and leisurely tasks such as watching movies and series on Netflix, for example. Its 15.6-inch Full HD IPS screen promises crisp colors and sharp contrasts. Notebook specifications include 8th generation Intel Core i7 processors with integrated Gigabit Wi-Fi for faster connectivity. There’s even support for personal assistants, plus the ability to opt for the Nvidia GeForce MX150 GPU for best performance. The product will be available in December 2018 in Europe, for from 549 euros (R $ 2,654).

More advanced, the Aspire 7 is suitable for design professionals and creators who need a more powerful datasheet. Its 15.6-inch IPS2 display features Ultra HD 4K (3840 x 2160). The internal set consists of an 8th generation Intel Core i7-8705G or i5-8305G processor with Radeon RX Vega M GL graphics, plus 4GB of HMB2 video memory. You can even choose up to 16 GB of DDR4 memory and PCIe NVIDIA RAID 0 SSD storage up to 512 GB. The value and release date of the laptop have not yet been revealed.
